Flags Ordered To Half-Staff Following Virginia Congressman Donald McEachin’s Death

Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered all flags in Iowa to half-staff through sunset tonight (Tuesday) in honor of Virginia Congressman Donald McEachin, who passed away Monday. The governor’s order was issued in conjunction with a proclamation from President Joe Biden to lower U.S. flags to half-staff for the same length of time. Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building, flag displays in the Capitol Complex, and on all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties, and other government subdivisions are encouraged to participate as a sign of respect. McEachin died at the age of 61 following a yearslong battle with colorectal cancer.
