Movement Limited In Iowa Fuel Markets This Week

According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa, movement in statewide fuel prices was minimal over the past week. As of Wednesday, Nov. 2, the cost of regular unleaded gasoline in Iowa averaged $3.53 per gallon, a two-cent drop from last week but 34 cents higher than last year. The national average as of yesterday (Wednesday) was up one cent to $3.77 per gallon. Retail diesel declined by seven cents to an average of $5.16 per gallon, which is $1.67 higher than a year ago. The national diesel average climbed eight cents on the week to $5.31 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged at $2.16 per gallon. Home heating fuels were equally muted as propane dipped one cent to a statewide average of $1.92 per gallon. Home heating oil prices dropped eight cents to $4.72 per gallon, and natural gas prices rose by five cents at the Henry Hub reporting site to $6.14 per MMBtu.
