Weekly Report Shows Iowa Gas Prices Creep Higher As Diesel Trends Downward

According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa, fuel prices in the state saw limited movement over the past week. As of Wednesday, Oct. 5, the average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was up six cents to $3.69, a 67-cent rise from last year. The national average was up six cents on the week to $3.83 per gallon. Retail diesel dropped three cents from last week to $4.67 per gallon. That is $1.46 higher than a year ago. Iowa prices remain 20 cents below the national average of $4.87 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged at $2.16 per gallon, and natural gas prices at the Henry Hub reporting site held steady at $6.93 per MMBtu.
