Gov. Reynolds Extends Harvest Proclamation Through October

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has extended the state’s harvest proclamation through October. Initially signed on Sept. 1, the proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage, stover, fertilizer, and manure to be overweight without a permit so long as they do not exceed 90,000 pounds gross weight, the maximum axle weight limit determined under the non-primary highway maximum gross weight table by 12.5 percent, or 20,000-pound maximum axle weight limit. The order applies to all highways within Iowa, but it does exclude the interstate system. Drivers must still comply with all posted limits for specific roads and bridges. The extension continues through Oct. 30, 2022. The proclamation’s full text can be found included below.
