August Unemployment Rates Climb Throughout The Region From Previous Month

The August 2022 unemployment rates for the seven-county region all ticked higher from the previous month, according to data released yesterday (Tuesday) by Iowa Workforce Development (IWD). Carroll and Greene County led the way with the lowest unemployment rate at 2.2 percent, a three-tenths point increase from July for Carroll but only a tenth point higher for Greene. Audubon County followed close behind at 2.3 percent, a two-tenths point increase from the previous month. Sac County came in with a 2.5 percent unemployment rate for August, a two-tenths point increase, while Calhoun County climbed a tenth of a point to 2.6 percent. Guthrie and Crawford County saw the highest unemployment rates in the region for August at 2.8 and 3.5 percent, respectively.
