Flags In Iowa Ordered To Half-Staff In Honor Of Indiana Congresswoman Jackie Walorski

Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered flags in Iowa to half-staff through midnight tonight (Thursday) in honor of U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Walorski. Walorski, who represented Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District since 2013, died Wednesday in a car crash in northern Indiana. Reynolds says, “Congresswoman Walorski was a true and faithful public servant to the State of Indiana and to our nation. We mourn her tragic passing and honor her legacy. Kevin and I join with Iowans in prayer for Jackie’s family during this very difficult time.” The governor’s order was issued in conjunction with President Joe Biden’s proclamation to lower U.S. flags to half-staff. In Iowa, flags will be lowered at the State Capitol Building, flag displays in the Capitol Complex, and all public buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the state. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties, and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly flags at half-staff for the same length of time.
