This was the first of several successful commercial ventures for John that included a snow removal company and mini storage business. He was an avid outdoorsman, sharing his love of hunting and fishing with generations of friends. Some of his greatest joys in life were spending time in the duck blind or on a boat holding a fishing road. He was a lifelong supporter of wildlife preservation and education organizations like Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. John will be greatly missed by the many friends he made over the years as well as his wife Jean, son Lon (Cathy), grandchildren Rory, Echo, and Brendan, and sister Sondra.
