OABCIG at IKM-Manning Girls

OABCIG 47

IKM-Manning 37

The IKM-Manning Wolves were without their leading scorer Tuesday night against OABCIG as the Wolves led going into halftime, but gave up a lot of points in the third quarter.

The Falcons defense made it difficult for the Wolves to drive inside the lane for points, forcing IKM-Manning to take shots from beyond the arc. They found success with three-three pointers made by Taylor Ferneding, Bailee Germer, and Emmie Ring to keep the Wolves within one point of the OABCIG lead at 10-9. The Wolves made up for lost time in the second quarter as the Falcons struggled to score. While both teams had plenty of turnovers, the Wolves were able to find more success from beyond the arc with Ferneding draining two more to give the Wolves the lead at 19-14 heading into halftime. Despite Bianca Cadwell not playing in this game, Macie Doyel stepped up well to lead the team on both sides of the ball, recording 14 points and 4 Steals.

OABCIG bounced back in a big way in the third quarter, leaving the Wolves in the dust. Krista Sibenaller stepped up for the Falcons putting up seven points while Riley Schiernbeck was a force on defense. The Wolves were forced into a corner and struggled to get points on the board, only putting up seven points and trailing 34-26.  IKM-Manning attempted to come back in the fourth quarter as Doyel led the charge. She had five points in the fourth quarter as Langel tried her best to force her way to the basket, but was blocked in a majority of her attempts. The Wolves put up 11 points, but after struggling in the third quarter, the Falcons ended up coming away with a 47-37 win.
