Over $25,000 in damage was reported in a single-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson. The Jefferson Police Department was dispatched at approximately 4:47 p.m.to the intersection of Grimmell and Clark Streets. Their investigation found a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jared Dennhardt of Jefferson, had collided with an Alliant Energy station box after he lost control of the truck when braking for a slow-moving vehicle. Damage to the box was estimated at $25,000, and the truck sustained approximately $2,000 in damage to its front end. Dennhardt was cited for failure to maintain control.
