Carroll Community School District (CCSD) administrators are reminding parents and guardians in the region who are considering open enrollment for their student in the 2022/23 school year that the deadline to submit applications is approaching. The March 1 deadline applies to all students in first through 12th grades. Generally, parents are responsible for transporting open-enrolled students to the recipient district, but there are stipends available for families who meet income eligibility requirements. Also, high school students are not eligible to participate in varsity contests and competitions during the first 90 school days of their transfer unless an exception applies under the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) or Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSSA) regulations. For students entering school for the first time as a preschooler or kindergartener, the deadline moves to Sept. 1.
