Greene County Authorities Respond To Four Accidents In Less Than Two Hours This Morning

Greene County Authorities responded to four accidents in less than a two-hour span this morning. All four were on U.S. Highway 30 near Scranton and reportedly caused by icy road conditions. The first call came in at approximately 4:37 a.m. about a single-vehicle rollover accident near Hillcrest Avenue. Fifty-eight-year-old Douglas Dusheck of Coon Rapids lost control of a 1997 Chevrolet K1500 on ice and rolled into the ditch. Duscheck was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries. The truck was a total loss. The second incident was a head-on collision at approximately 5:23 a.m., also near Hillcrest Avenue, but only minor injuries were reported. Thirty-eight-year-old Samuel Carlson of Jefferson was westbound on 30 in a 2012 Chevrolet K2500 when he too lost control on the slick roadway. He collided in the middle of the bridge with an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by 54-year-old Leonard Feilmeier of Glidden. Samuel was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for treatment. Both of those vehicles were also a total loss. At approximately 5:41 a.m. they responded to another incident near Eaton Avenue, but there were no injuries and no damage reported. The fourth call came in at approximately 6:24 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 30 and Granite Avenue. Fifty-one-year-old William Hines of Rippey lost control of the 2009 Chevrolet K1500 he was driving and entered the ditch. There was only minor damage to the vehicle.
