Ronald “Dino” Patrick of Coon Rapids

Ronald “Dino” Dean Patrick, age 59, of Coon Rapids, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Audubon County Hospital in Audubon, IA.

      Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids with Josh Smouse officiating.  Casket bearers will be Cody Burkholder, Andy Pepples, Chase Patrick, Chad Patrick, Tucker Patrick, and Olie Olesen.  Burial will be in the Orange Township Cemetery at a later date.

      Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Thursday evening.  Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 A.M. – 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

     Dino, as he was affectionately known to most, was born on November 1, 1962 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Ronald and MaryAnn (Olesen) Patrick.  He grew up in Coon Rapids where he graduated from high school in 1981.  He worked for the Golay Hog Farm for several years before going to work for Keystone Automotive in Des Moines for 26 years.  He was married to Teresa Knapp on September 25, 2014 in Guthrie Center.  Dino was a cowboy at heart and he loved all things horses including raising, breaking, and training.  He enjoyed wild horse racing and won the championship at the Dayton Rodeo three years in a row.  He was an awesome Karaoke singer and he had many good friends.  Dino also enjoyed hunting, camping, and trail riding, but most of all he loved spending time with his grand babies.

     Dino is survived by his wife Teresa of Coon Rapids; two daughters: Heather Pepples (Andy) of Gowrie and Ashley Patrick (Cody Burkholder) of Dayton; three step-children: Jon Meyers (Virginia) of Coon Rapids, Kylie Oltmann (Josh) of Guthrie Center, and Cory Knapp (Abby) of Grimes; twelve grandchildren; his mother MaryAnn Olson of Vail; his mother-in-law Marilyn Bender of Indianola; two sisters: Debbie Smith (Mike) of Coon Rapids and Penny Patrick of Coon Rapids; two brothers: Mark Patrick (Johnnie) of Missouri and Tim Patrick (Rocky) of Coon Rapids; a brother-in-law Andy Wood of Indianola; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     Dino was preceded in death by his father Ronald “Moose” Patrick in 1991.
