Carroll Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Felony Assault On A Peace Officer

A Carroll woman accused of assaulting police officers has filed not guilty pleas to the charges levied against her in Carroll County District Court. Twenty-one-year-old Kylie Nicole Armstrong faces two counts of assault on a peace officer with the intent to inflict serious injury, a class D felony. The charges stem from an Oct. 14 arrest by the Carroll Police Department. Authorities say Armstrong was being taken into custody on an outstanding warrant when she claimed to have COVID-19 and intentionally coughed into the face of a police officer on at least two occasions. Each count is punishable by up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines. Armstrong’s trial is slated to begin on Tuesday, Feb. 15 with a pretrial conference scheduled for Jan. 13.
