Blue Christmas Services Return To Carroll Dec. 11 To Help Those Struggling With Loss This Holiday Season

For many, the holidays are a time to gather and celebrate with family and friends, but for some, they serve as a painful reminder of loved ones who have passed away. Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Carroll, Terry Plocher, says this is why they have hosted the Blue Christmas event in Carroll for the past several years.

The services begin at 4 p.m on Saturday, Dec. 11 at First United Methodist Church on Main Street in Carroll. The event is sponsored by several area churches and organizations, and Plocher says you do not need to be affiliated with any of them to attend.

The holidays are generally a time of joy for most people, so people who may be struggling with loss may feel even more isolated. Plocher says it is important people know that it is okay to grieve and that they are not alone.

Again, the non-denominational Blue Christmas services begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11 at First United Methodist Church in Carroll. The event is also sponsored by: the Carroll First Presbyterian Church, Glidden United Methodist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, Carroll County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home and Sharp Funeral Home.
