With Christmas now just over a month away, area communities are scheduling their holiday celebrations, and Lake View is no exception. The City of Lake View and Lake View Community Club invite area residents to join them on Saturday, Dec. 4 for their annual Candyland Christmas. The fun begins at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall on Main Street with cookies and hot chocolate, a holiday bake sale, free carriage rides and a visit from a special guest, Santa Claus. At 4 p.m., residents will gather for games of bingo, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the memorial Christmas tree and a complimentary soup supper. Organizers will be giving away door prizes to attendees, including: six $50 grocery gift certificates, a turkey and a ham. Participants are asked to bring hats, gloves or mittens to the event to donate to the East Sac County Food Pantry, which will be distributed to students and families within the district.
