G-R School Board Candidate, Squibb, Wants To Continue Momentum And Continue Implementation Of Forward-Thinking Ideas For District

Brandon Squibb is another Glidden resident who is running for one of three open seats on the Glidden-Ralston Board of Education. He has lived in Glidden since he was in third grade, and says he decided to run because he now has a more vested interest in the district.

Squibb and his wife, Katie, have three kids in the district now—Olivia (11), Meredith (9) and Elsie (8)—and another that will be going to school there in the near future, Henry (3). He works for the Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer out of Boone and owns two small businesses in Glidden—Liquid Visions that does hydrographic printing and custom painting and another embroidery business that is just starting up. He says running small businesses has shown him the need to continue to bring new and forward-thinking ideas to the board.

Again, staff retention was the number one concern Squibb identified for the Glidden-Ralston School district. But he adds to that as well.

Squibb says the school district is doing a lot of things the right way.

The attributes and assets that Squibb says he will bring to the table starts with school pride and wanting to see successes across the board, in academics as well as sports and the arts.

He adds that his business experience brings an added benefit when working with budgets and staying within or coming in under those allocated amounts. Squibb wants all voters to know that he is ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work.

Election Day is next Tuesday, Nov. 2 and Squibb would appreciate district residents supporting him at the polls. This is, technically, an uncontested race with three candidates running for three seats. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you live coverage on Election night after the polls close at 8 p.m. and in the days following.
