Glidden-Ralston Board Candidate, Rohrbeck, Stresses Importance Of School-Community Collaborations

There are two newcomers and one incumbent on the ballot for three open seats on the Glidden-Ralston Community School District Board of Education. And though this would be considered an uncontested race, the candidates do want people to know more about them as they head to the polls. Tyler Rohrbeck was born and raised in Glidden and is now raising his three children in his hometown. His desire to be on the board follows along with his history of civic engagement.

When it comes to challenges the Glidden-Ralston district is or could be facing during his tenure, he hits on the same concerns that so many others have named.

He adds that in the future, the district should work to promote the benefits at Glidden-Ralston, including the smaller class sizes that allow for more one-on-one teacher/student interaction and that their technological offerings are a great asset for students and staff alike. There is another added benefit for seniors at Glidden-Ralston.

The long-range vision for the district has Rohrbeck looking at working to maintain the strides they have already made and to keep building on those into the future. He adds it is vital to keep students and staff armed with the resources they need to succeed. Rohrbeck says an open mind is the most important attribute he can bring to the board.

He also wants all district residents to know he is dedicated to turning the roots he has put down for his family into benefits for all district families.

To sum it up, he says, we have a great thing going here, he just wants to grow on that. Rohrbeck is a transportation manager at Scranton Manufacturing. He and his wife, Jen, have three children, Landon who is in eighth grade, Colton who is in sixth grade and Alexa in third grade. We will bring you more from Glidden-Ralston board candidates in upcoming newscasts.
