Texas Man Tased By Storm Lake Officers Early Wednesday Morning

A Texas man was Tased by officers with the Storm Lake Police Department while resisting arrest. The department reports they were called to Mo’s Bar on North Lake Avenue at approximately 1 a.m. on Wednesday because a subject was attempting to initiate a physical altercation and directing racial epithets at customers. Upon arrival, the officers learned the man, 31-year-old John David Reyna of Angleton, Texas, had fled the area and witnesses provided a description of the vehicle. Reyna was located in the parking lot of a motel and he was exhibiting signs of alcohol impairment, but refused commands to exit his vehicle. While attempting to take him into custody, Reyna resisted and the Taser was ultimately deployed to subdue him. He was treated at the scene and transported to the Buena Vista County jail on a $5,600 bond and charged with third-offense operating while intoxicated, a class D felony, and interference with official acts and disorderly conduct, both simple misdemeanors. As of this airing, Reyna remained in custody.
