Carroll Police Department Responds To Two Car Accidents Tuesday Morning

The Carroll Police Department responded to two motor vehicle accidents Tuesday morning. The first occurred at approximately 8:28 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Court Street. Authorities say a 2008 Toyota Yaris, driven by 36-year-old José Rodriguez of Carroll, was traveling eastbound on 30 and failed to stop for a red light. As the Rodriguez vehicle entered the intersection, it was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound 2017 Toyota Rav4, driven by 40-year-old Jason Clark of Coon Rapids. The Rodriquez Toyota sustained disabling damage in the collision, and Rodriguez was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. The second accident happened at approximately 11:28 a.m. in the 1200 block of Highway 30. The initial investigation shows 44-year-old Ryan Eischeid of Manning was driving a 2012 Ford F-250 westbound in the inside land and was slowing for traffic. A 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 83-year-old Lorraine Hoffman of Glidden, was following behind the Eischeid truck and attempted to change lanes, colliding with a 2016 Mack semi-tractor trailer operated by 47-year-old Ryan Neumann of Westside. Following the initial impact, the SUV then collided with the rear of the Eischeid pickup, resulting in disabling damage to the Hoffman vehicle. She was cited for improper lane change.
