Pat was born in Weeping Water, NE on December 27, 1928 to Andrew and Pauline Stander. Pat was the 5th of 8 children. She attended rural schools in Nebraska, graduating with a teaching certificate from Plattsmouth NE High School at the age of 16 and immediately started teaching in country schools in the area. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Kearney State Teachers College.
On June 8, 1948, Pat married Don Templemeyer at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Manley, NE. They taught in schools in Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa before settling in Carroll in 1970. Pat taught 6th grade at Holy Spirit School in Carroll until her retirement in 1990. She especially loved reading to her students.  While teaching full time, Pat and Don created a wood crafting business where Pat used her many painting skills to the delight of their customers. She then switched her talents to quilting, making sure that all of her grandchildren had a “Gramma Quilt”.  She was an active volunteer in the St Anthony Auxiliary, Birthright and Hospice Care, and Holy Spirit Women’s Guild.  Pat and Don shared 73 ½ years of married bliss. They credit their long loving relationship to Daily Mass and Communion, and a healthy prayer life.
Pat is survived by her husband, Don. 4 children, Rosey Vogan from Minneapolis, MN. Paula Templemeyer of Fort Dodge, IA. Terri (Deacon Dave) Prenger of Carroll and Michael (Chong Ah) Templemeyer of Omaha. 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
