After The First Price Drop In Months, Natural Gas Prices Surge Ahead

A decline in natural gas prices didn’t last long. After a drop of $.58 last week, the average price from the Henry Hub reporting site for the week ending Sept. 29 saw an increase of $.73, now at $5.56 per MMBtu. Two of three motor fuels saw slight increases. According to AAA Iowa, the average price of regular unleaded gasoline rose to $3.02 a gallon, up $.02 over the past week and $.94 higher than one year ago. Retail diesel went up $.03 to $3.16, which is $.97 higher than one year ago and $.17 lower than the national average of $3.33. Wholesale ethanol held steady at $2.21 per gallon.
