A 14-year-old Jefferson male was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines following a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol, Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene on N. Grimmel Road, near the high school, at approximately 4:59 p.m. The juvenile was southbound on a 2016 Honda moped when he swerved over the center line into the northbound lane and was struck by a 2017 Chevrolet driven by 48-year-old Nancy Kaufman of Grand Junction.
