The crowd was huge and into the game on Wednesday and they were treated to a classic. Both teams played well and both had chances to win the game before Kuemper edged the Tigers with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom 8th. Carroll struck first after making a great adjustment at the plate. Colby Christensen punched a pitch into right field for the Tigers first hit in the 2nd inning. He would score on a single by Cade Schable which followed base hits from Tory Feldman and a fielders choice by Treyton Goins. The Tigers added three more runs in the 3rd and looked like they could put Kuemper in a big hole. Benicio Lujano and Max Irlmeier singled or Kuemper with one out. Logan Sibenaller walked to score the first run and Blake Pottebaum gave Kuemper an insurance run with a sac fly to right field.
