IKM-Manning Won 3rd Straight, Audubon Topped SCC while Carroll and AWV Both Fall

Carroll picked up nine hits but gave up 13 hits and allowed seven unearned runs as they fell at home in a non-conference matchup. The Tigers have been snake bitten lately, giving up some big innings and it happened again with the Trojans scoring 4 times in the 2nd inning and 6th inning and blowing the game open in the 4th with 7-runs. Carroll did battle back in the bottom 4th with 3-runs as Ryan Johnston had a 2-run triple, scoring Ty Nisssen and Jack Troutman. Johnson scored on an RBI single by Colby Christensen. That would be all the Tigers could muster.

Ty Nissen, Jack Troutman and Colby Christensen all had 2 hits . Ryan Johnston tripled, driving in 2-runs and Christensen added the other RBI. Slade Sibenaller had a double. Tory Feldman and Ethan Loew combined to allow 13 hits, 15 runs and 10 walks in 5 2/3 innings.

The Tigers will take on Kuemper on Wednesday. The loss dropped them to 11-16 overall. The Knights are 18-6-1 entering the game.

Audubon At South Central Calhoun

Audubon may have found themselves on Tuesday night as they got the bats going along with getting solid pitching. South Central Calhoun rallied in the 5th to make it a 2-run game before Audubon extended the lead over the final two innings. The Wheelers won the hitting battle 11-7 and had three extra base hits to one for the Titans. Audubon did have 5 errors that led to 3 unearned runs being scored. The Titans had 3 errors and allowed 6 unearned runs.

Gavin Smith was huge for the Wheelers with 4 hits, a double, 4 RBI and 3 RS while stealing 4 bases. Gavin Larsen and Aiden Alt each had 2 hits with Alt doubling and driving in 2-runs while Larsen had 2 RBI and scored twice. Braden Wessel doubled and scored 3 times and went 5 innings on the mound to pick up the win. He allowed 4 hits and 1 unearned run with 5 K’s.

The Titans were led by Ayden Toms and Zach Trott with 2 hits each. Toms doubled and scored and Trott drove in a run and scored a run. Brennan Holder went 4 innings, allowing 6 hits and 4 earned runs.

The Wheelers improved to 9-15 overall and will host CAM Anita on Wednesday. The Titans drop to 1-22 and will travel to Glidden Ralston to finish a suspended game on Wednesday.

IKM-Manning At Exira-EHK

IKM-Manning won their third straight game and head into the postseason beginning to feel like they have started to figure things out. The Wolves head on to beat Exira-EHK who scored 3 unearned runs in the bottom 7th. Treyton Barry was able to close the door after a defensive miscue opened the door for the Spartans. The Wolves scored 4 insurance runs in the top 7th and they came in handy. The Spartans walked the bases loaded in the 7th and Max Nielsen singled to break the game open. The Wolves made the most of their six hits.

Max Irlmeier  and Conner Richards helped pace the Wolves attack with 2 hits each. Irlmeier doubled, drove in a run and scored while Richards scored twice. Treyton Barry added an RBI. Max Nielsen earned the win, going 4 innings and striking out 6 with only 3 hits. Barry went the other 3 innings, allowing 2 hits and no earned runs with 4 strikeouts.

IKM-Manning improved to 8-17 as they head into postseason play Saturday at Tri Center. The Trojans are 23-1 with a game left on Thursday vs Kuemper.

The Rockets dropped their 2nd straight and fell to 10-9 on the season. Braeden Kirsch pitched a very good game going all 7 innings and giving up 6 Hits and 2 earned runs. Offensively it was a struggle for Ar-We-Va as they finished with 3 hits. Ar-We-Va got on the board in the 6th inning when Cooper Kock scored.

Cooper Kock, Conner Kirsch and Damon Ehlers all had a hit for the Rockets.

Ar-We-Va opens their playoff run on Saturday at Tri Center against West Harrison.
