Fuel prices at the pump remained stable for yet another week, but the cost of natural gas rose more than a dime. According to AAA Iowa, as of Wednesday, June 16, the price of regular unleaded remained at an average of $2.88 per gallon, $.84 higher than last year. The national average was up one penny to $3.08. Retail diesel prices in Iowa were down a penny last week to an average of $3.05, $.89 above last year and $.17 less than the national average. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged at $2.46. Natural gas has seen steady increases over the last several weeks and went up again $.12 per MMbtu and is now priced at $3.27.
