A Scranton man was arrested Monday after attempting to flee from law enforcement on foot. According to Carroll County District Court records, the Carroll Police Department was dispatched to Graham Park at approximately 3:09 p.m. for an alleged assault that had taken place. Upon arrival, authorities learned the victim and the suspect had already left the scene, but a witness was able to identify the suspect as 33-year-old Shon Edward Caldeira, who has also reported an address in Lohrville. In an attempt to locate Caldeira, officers traveled to his previous residence in the 900 block of N. East Street. Authorities say Caldeira then fled on foot, but he was taken into custody quickly with assistance from an Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement officer. He was booked into the Carroll County jail and charged with interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. Caldeira’s next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, July 1.
