Kuemper nearly picked up a big win against tough opponent on the road but they couldn’t catch a in the 7th inning. The Knights battled back in the 4th and held onto the lead until the 7th. Underwood rallied with 2 outs and scored two runs on a pop fly that dropped between the Knights defenders who had lost it in the air. The loss drops Kuemper to 4-2 on the season as they have dropped two straight after winning their first 4 games. Underwood struck early with 3-runs in the 1st inning. Kuemper got on the board in the 2nd inning, Austin Tigges singled, stole 2nd base and scored from 3rd on a groundout to the right side by Luke Hicks. The Knights added a run in the 3rd when Logan Sibenaller got hit-by-a-pitch, stole 2nd base and scored on a base hit by Trevor Rial. The Eagles answered in their half of the 3rd but Kuemper took the lead in the 4th. Cal Wanninger walked and Hicks reached on an error. Max Irlmeier doubled to score a run and John Mayhall gave them the lead with two RBI single. Underwood scored their two runs in the bottom 7th with two walks, an error and a single.

Kuemper was held to 6 hits with John Mayhall picking up 2 of them. Mayhall had a team high 2 RBI while Trevor Rial, Max Irlmeier and Luke Hicks each added an RBI. Logan Sibenaller suffered the loss going 6 2/3 inning allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits.  The win moves the Eagle to 8-1.

The Knights head to Denison Schleswig on Thursday on 93.7 KKRL.

Carroll put up football numbers on Wednesday with every player getting to play and adding to the offensive output. The Tigers led 15-3 after the 2nd inning. Their 6-run 1st inning was highlighted by a RBI triple from Slade Sibenaller, RBI double by Ryan Johnston and a Grand Slam Home Run by Treyton Goins. Sibenaller wasn’t done yet, belting a 3-run home run in the 2nd inning and Tory Feldman added a 3-run double. Connor Slagle got in on the action in the 5th as Carroll scored 11 more runs with his 2-run double the highlight. Carroll played well on defense but 2 errors did lead to 4 unearned runs for Perry. The defensive miscues allowed Perry to hang around scoring 3-runs in the 1st, 4 in the 4th and 3 more in the 5th.

Slade Sibenaller had a pair of hits(triple and home run) and 6 RBI while Treyton Goines finished with 4 RBI on a grand slam home run. Tory Feldman helped the offensive output with 4 hits including a double and 5 RBI. Carroll had 16 players either score a run or drive in a run.

The win improves the Tigers to 6-4 overall and 3-4 in the Raccoon River Conference. Carroll hosts Ballard on Thursday.

Ar-We-Va picked up their 6th win of the season, improving to 6-2 overall and 5-2 in the Rolling Valley by scoring 10 runs in the 1st inning. The Rockets added 3-runs in the 3rd and 2 more in the 4th inning.

Will Ragaller and Cooper Kock both had big nights with Ragaller going deep as part of his two hit night. Ragaller drove in 2-runs and scored 4 times. Kock fnished with 3 hits, including a double. He drove in 4 RBI and scored twice. Harley Molina got the win on the hill going 3 innings with 3 strikeouts and no hits allowed. Conner Kirsch scored 3 times for the Rockets.

The Rockets host West Harrison on Friday.

The Titans scored 4-runs in the 4th inning with Brody Stauter doubling driving in a pair of runs. Zach Trott added an RBI and Brodie Voith, Chance Roeder and each added a hit. The Titans finished with 3 hits and 4 walks. West Bend Mallard opened the game up with 6-runs in the 2nd and 7 more runs in the 3rd inning. The loss drops South Central Calhoun to 0-9 overall and 0-4 in the Twin Lakes Conference.

East Sac built an early lead, lost the lead and nearly rallied back in the 7th to win or tie the game. The Raiders scored twice in the 7th and had runners on 2nd and 3rd but weren’t able to get the tying run across the plate. The loss drops them to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the Twin Lakes Conference. East Sac had 5 players combined with 7 hits and one extra base hit. The Raiders scored 3-runs in the 1st inning, added 4 more in the 2nd and led 7-2 heading to the 3rd. The Raiders added a run in the 4th but GTRA came alive in the 3rd with a 3-run 3rd, 2 in the 4th and took the lead with a 4-run 5th inning.

Preston Mauer and Aden Vondrak each had two hits with Mauer driving in 5 RBI and Vondrak adding 2 RBI. Dylan Thomsen, Brock Mandernatch and Karter Ludwig picked up the other hits.

The Raiders host Storm Lake St Mary’s on Friday.

Coon Rapids Bayard picked up a pair of wins taking the suspended game from May 25th 10-3 and the full game played on Wednesday 5-0. The Crusaders led 7-2 in the bottom of the 5th on May 25th. They scored 6-runs in the 1st inning that night and then added a run in the 6th and 2 more in the 7th on Wednesday. IKM-Manning scored 2 in the 6th on Wednesday. The Crusaders had 9 hits in the suspended game with Easton Hays having a big game and night finishing 4-4 in the suspended game with a double, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Lance Clayburg doubled and scored twice.  Hays added a win on the hill in the suspended game going 4 2/3 innings, allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 4.

Coon Rapids Bayard scored 3-runs in the 2nd inning and added 2 in the 4th to win the 2nd game. Hays was instrumental in the win with a pair of hits. Josh Ramirez won the June 9th game on the hill allowing 2 hits while striking out 5 in 3 innings of work.

The two wins improve Coon Rapids Bayard to 10-3 overall. IKM-Manning falls to 2-8 on the season.
