A Carroll man accused of operating a motor vehicle without owner consent has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors and was sentenced last week. Carroll County District Court records show 32-year-old Brandon Dennis Blunk filed his written plea to the aggravated misdemeanor charge Thursday. He was ordered to serve two years in prison and pay over $1,600 in fines, surcharges and court costs. However, as part of the agreement with prosecutors, Blunk’s sentence was suspended, and he was instead placed on probation for two years to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services. Blunk was arrested on March 14 after he removed a 2014 Chevrolet Impala that had been parked on W. Randall Road. He and the vehicle were later located by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Breda.
