More than $6,000 in damage was reported following a two-vehicle accident in Jefferson Thursday. The Jefferson Police Department was dispatched at approximately 1:06 p.m. to the scene in the 100 block of E. State Street. Authorities say a 2001 Dodge Ram, driven by Isle Hooper of Jefferson, was backing from a parking spot and struck a 2017 Mazda CX-5, owned by Sharon Richardson of Coon Rapids. Damage to the Mazda is estimated at $5,500 and $800 to the pickup truck. Hooper was cited for failure to maintain control.
