Over $6,000 in damage was reported following a two-vehicle accident in Jefferson Saturday. The Jefferson Police Department was dispatched to the scene of the accident at the intersection of W. Clark and N. Vine Streets at approximately 1:59 p.m. According to their initial investigation, a 2015 Chevrolet Trax, driven by Rochelle Mitchels of Rippy, was traveling eastbound on Clark. At the same time, a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, operated by Mary Jane Sorenson of Jefferson, was driving south on Vine. Authorities say the two vehicles collided in the uncontrolled intersection, resulting in approximately $1,500 in damage to the Trax’s bumper and $4,000 to the Sorenson vehicle’s rear passenger side. No injuries were reported following the collision.
