The East Sac County (ESC) Horticulture Department’s annual spring plant sale begins at the end of the week. The sale opens Friday, April 30 at 4 p.m. at the greenhouse behind the high school in Lake View. The greenhouse is open Saturday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plants will continue to be sold while there if there is enough inventory, but hours will be reduced after Saturday, May 8. The students have several dozen varieties of plants for sale, including vegetables, flowers, accents and hanging baskets. Supplies are limited, so those interested in purchasing flowers are encourage to pre-order using the details also included online. All money raised from the sale is returned to the Horticulture Department to purchase supplies and educational materials for students enrolled in the program.
