Girls Track Results Thursday, April 1st
Carroll At Ogden Early Bird
The Carroll girls finished 4th with 82 points in their 2nd meet of the season and first meet this week. They had 7 events finish in the top 3 including 4 individual events and 3 relays. Winterset was the team champion with 151 points followed by Van Meter with 121 and Panorama with 97.
Hannah Jorgensen was outstanding for a 2nd straight meet with two 1st place finishes and a 2nd place finish. Jorgensen won her second 200 Meters race this season with a 27.79. She teamed up with Libby Perkins, Kennedy Thein and Shay Sinnard for 1st in the 4×200 in 1:53.71 and was 2nd in the 4×100 with Alex Klein, Kennedy Thein and Shay Sinnard in 53.49. Sinnard was 2nd in the Long Jump with her best jump at 15-07.25. Madison Tunning continues to shine as well taking 3rd in the 100 Hurdles in 18.35 and was part of the 3rd place 4×400 team with Ava Gross, Autumn Fortner and Camryn Schable. They finished in a time of 4:40.23. Vanessa Ayala was the Tigers other top placer taking 3rd in the Discus with her best throw at 90-09.

Ar-We-Va and Audubon At Audubon Early Bird Meet
The Harlan Cyclones on Thursday night won the 2021 Audubon Early Bird Track meet where the Audubon Wheelers and Ar-We-Va Rockets performed for the first time this season. The Wheelers would finish in third place in team standings with 74 team points. The Rockets Finished in 13th with 18 total team points.
The Rockets gave some great performances in their first track meet of the season. The sprint medley team, consisting of Kora Obrecht, Hannah Kraus, Jamie Hausman, and Jadeyn Smith, finished in 6th with a time of 2:03.25. Those same individuals competed in the 4X100 medley that finished 5th with a time of 55.54. The Rockets’ 4X200 team, consisting of Smith, Kraus, Kallie Bromert, and Sara Schurke, would finish in 6th with a time of 2:03.50. Individually for the Rockets, Kora Obrecht would finish 6th in the long jump with a jump of 14-10.25. Trista Reis would get her team points with an eighth place 1500 meter run with a time of 6:04.95. Finally, Smith contributed well for her team with a 5th place shot put throw at 35-02.00.
For the Audubon Wheelers, five of their medley teams would finish in the top three. The Sprint Medley team, consisting of Abigail Zaiger, Mattie Nielsen, Madison Steckler, and Hannah Thygesen, would finish in 2nd with a time of 1:59.33. The 4X800 team, consisting of Audrey Jensen, Kodie Sporrer, Jordan Porsch, and Grace Slater, finished in 3rd place with a time of 11:23.34. The Shuttle Hurdle team, consisting of Steckler, Katelyn and Mattie Nielsen, and Madison Burr, finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:14.85. The Wheeler’s Distance Medley team, consisting of Zaiger, Steckler, Mattie Nielsen, and Thygesen, would finish in 2nd place with a time of 4:39.31. The final medley team to place top three for the Wheelers was the 4X400 team, consisting of Zaiger, Steckler, Mattie Nielsen, and Thygesen, finished in third with a time of 4:32.75. Individually, Elizabeth Zaiger would finish 4th in the Shot put with a throw of 35-03.00 and Discus with a throw of 104-11, both personal bests for her. Grace Slater would finish the 3000 meter run in second place with a time of 12:18.06. Thygesen would finish in third place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:35.12.
