Donna Rae Reglein, age 74, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines surrounded by her family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at St. John Paul II Parish – Holy Spirit Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Schott as Celebrant. Donna’s cousin Fr. Grant Thies will serve as Concelebrant. Lectors for the Mass will be Steve Ackerson and Terri Schmitt. Organist will be Jane Heithoff and Cantor will be Kathleen Macke. Casket bearers will be Donna’s grandchildren. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5–7 P.M. on Friday evening. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday where there will be additional visitation until 10:15 A.M. prior to the Mass. Those in attendance at Donna’s visitation and funeral are asked to abide by Covid-19 guidelines and facemasks are required at the funeral home and church.

Donna was born on December 27, 1946 in Ida Grove, IA, and she was the daughter of Sydney Carl and Helen Marian (Ziegmann) Peterson. Her family moved from Wall Lake to Westside when she was a young girl. She graduated from Ar-We-Va High School in 1965. She then attended Stewart School of Cosmetology in Sioux City and made her home in Carroll. She was married to John Reglein on December 23, 1978 in Wall Lake, IA. Donna has worked as a licensed cosmetologist in the Carroll area her entire career; her favorite being the Magic Mirror. John and Donna also owned and operated the Villa and the Graphic Edge in Carroll. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish. Donna enjoyed cooking, Bingo, going to the movies, socializing, and shopping, shopping, shopping. She had a kind and loving heart and she truly adored her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching her husband John play softball and was his biggest fan.
Donna is survived by her husband John Reglein of Carroll; her children and their families: Tara Tigges, Tasha Tigges, Brooke Reglein (Brandon Ranniger), and Brandi Reglein all of Carroll; John’s children Kevin Reglein (Sondra) of Cedar Falls and Stacy Hanson of Ft. Dodge; fourteen grandchildren: K.C., Logan, Morgan, Evan, James, Brody, Payton, Landon, Addyson, Marsia, Jaxyn, Toby, Jaityn, and Braelin; five great-grandchildren: Kendrick, Oliver, Oden, Liam, and Nevaeh; a sister Renee Mauer (William) Leawood, KS; two brothers: John Peterson (Cathy) of Carroll and Jeff Peterson (Linda) of Leawood, KS; a sister-in-law Joyce Peterson of Overland Park, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents Sydney and Helen Peterson; her in-laws Vietta and Charles Reglein; and her brother Mark Peterson.
