Kavin Fagerlind of Glidden

Kavin Karl Fagerlind, age 61, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, IA.

     Funeral service will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Pastor Patrick Henderson of Grace Christian Fellowship in Carroll officiating.  Music for the service will be by Josiah and Jadon Henderson.  Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lidderdale at a later date.

     Visitation will held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5:00 – 6:30 P.M. prior to the service on Monday.

     Those in attendance at Kavin’s visitation and funeral service are asked to abide by Covid-19 guidelines and facemasks are required at the funeral home.

     Kavin was born on March 25, 1959 in Waterloo, IA, and he was the son on Merle and Denise (Volker) Fagerlind.  He grew up in Waterloo and lived in several towns in Iowa.  He was married to Lisa Williams on July 31, 1993 at Swan Lake State Park near Carroll.  He worked at Carroll Coolers for many years.  Kavin came to the Carroll community in 1991 to live in the Serenity House halfway house on Main Street.  This year he would have celebrated 30 years clean and sober.  He was very active in the Carroll recovery community and helped countless people over the years.  Kavin enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and spending time with his family.  Kavin was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and proudly carried his “big piece of cheese Koozie” wherever he went.  He was also an Iowa Wild hockey fan.

     Kavin is survived by his wife Lisa of Glidden; his children: son Kavin Fagerlind Jr. of Ankeny, daughter Lacey Fagerlind of Carroll, daughters Karlee, Bailey, and Journey all at home; Lisa’s daughters: Shelbi Parker (Brandon Lobb) of Chicago and Tyffani Parker (Scott Wempe) of Carroll; six grandchildren: Ryan, Payten, Jonah, Carson, Lincoln, and Presley; his mother-in-law Gloria Williams of Glidden; and many other extended family members.

     Kavin was preceded in death by his parents Merle and Beverly Fagerlind and his brother Merle Jr.
