For the second time in the past two years, a special program at Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) and its staff members have received national recognition. The Senior Life Solutions program, as well as Director, Janet Brus, Therapist, Amy Hull, and Office and Patient Coordinator, Cathy Dammann, have been named 2020 National Program of the Year finalists. There are currently nearly 100 Senior Life Solutions programs in 27 states and the top performing employees and programs receive recognition annually, based on their excellence in demonstrating the values of care, compliance and community. This year, five programs received the top award and nine were named finalists. “This Senior Life Solutions team has continually made strides during this pandemic to reach and care for our senior population,” says MRHC CEO, Linn Block. “They have continued to serve an average of nine individuals per day during this past year, an increase of about 14 percent during the pandemic alone. We recognize that we have an aging population here in Manning and the surrounding communities, so it is vital that we have a strong Senior Life Solutions program that serves the needs of those most vulnerable and reach them in a safe and consistent manner.” Senior Life Solutions is an intensive outpatient group therapy program designed to meet the unique needs of senior adults living with symptoms of age-related depression or anxiety, dealing with difficult life transitions, a recent health diagnosis or the loss of a loved one. Self-referrals are accepted and anyone can refer an individual to the program, including family members, physicians or other health professionals.
