Carroll Man’s Arrest For Possession Of Methamphetamine Stems From November Traffic Stop

A Carroll man was arrested Wednesday on drug charges and an outstanding Calhoun County warrant. The Carroll Police Department says it was a report of harassment in the 800 block of N. Court Street at approximately 6:13 p.m. that led to them taking one individual present into custody on a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The charge against 32-year-old Nicholas Russell Pickering stems from a Nov. 24, 2020 incident in which he was pulled over for driving with a suspended license. Pickering became combative during the traffic stop, fighting with officers. During his arrest, a substance suspected to methamphetamine was seized and sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) for testing. Those results recently came back positive.
