Twenty-one grant awards through the Community Foundation of Carroll County, totaling more than $136,000, were recently announced. The grants from the County Endowment Program, the Community Foundation of Carroll County Endowment Fund and Grow Greene Gaming Corporation include the second installment of a three-year pledge to St. Anthony Regional Cancer Center and the fourth of a five-year-pledge to the Carroll Public Library Foundation, both at $20,000. The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Carroll campus expansion project was granted $15,000 as well. The City of Manning’s library expansion project and the proposed Lil’ Wildcat Education Center in Glidden each received $10,000. The City of Templeton will be using a $7,000 award for landscaping and sidewalk installation at the city park. Five-thousand-dollar grants were allocated to the Carroll County Conservation Board for new playground equipment, Kellan’s Kingdom for the Miracle League Field restroom and concession stand project, the City of Breda for pool renovations, the City of Dedham for updates to the community center, the Ralston Fire Fighters Foundation for replacement of an outdated truck, Main Street Coon Rapids for murals and Whiterock Conservancy for repairs of the Main Loop trail.
