Bid Letting For Final Section Of Lake View Electrical Replacement Project Set For Feb. 11

The Lake View City Council has scheduled the bid letting for the final stage of a years-long electric cable replacement effort for next month. On Feb. 11, city officials will open the submitted bids for the estimated $134,000 project. Administrator, Scott Peterson, explains the reasoning for the work.

Once this final segment is finished, Peterson says it has the added benefit of bringing new electrical service to a previously unserved region within city limits.

In addition to providing more efficient and reliable electrical service to customers, residents can also expect improvements to water quality in Black Hawk Lake once the barrier’s pump is operational. Peterson says both projects have been on the council’s priority list for quite some time, and it is exciting to see them nearing completion.

Peterson expects the council to select a bid at their Feb. 15 meeting. Work is slated to occur over the summer with a completion date of Aug. 1.
