Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) of Lake City has announced the grand opening of their wound care clinic. This offers community members a comprehensive, quality approach to healing and provides state-of-the-art clinical services to patients with non-healing wounds. They specialize in treatment of difficult-to-heal wounds that include: diabetic foot, venous, pressure and arterial or ischemic ulcers; non-healing surgical, traumatic or infected wounds; crush injuries and compromised flaps or grafts. The wound healing center is staffed with a team of clinicians with advanced training in wound care, who will customize the most effective treatment plan to stimulate healing. Lead provider is Mark Mogensen, PA and clinical coordinator is Kendra Tiefenthaler, RN. Most treatments are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and other private insurance. The wound care clinic is located on the hospital campus and is handicapped accessible.
