Five Manning organizations are reaping the benefits in sharing $7,000 of grant money recently donated by the Refresh Manning Trust Fund. The 2020 winners include the Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park which received $1,200 to purchase and install the first phase of a security system in response to recent property damage. The Manning Parks and Rec Center will use $2,000 to plan and build a soft play/mat area and small climbing wall for pre-school through third-grade children. Main Street Manning is looking to “refresh” their current logo and received $875 toward that goal. The IKM-Manning School Districts FIRE (Finding Innovative Reasons to Excel) program has been awarded $550 to purchase a vinyl cutter and supplies which will be used as they design and print signs in an effort to help property owners market empty buildings and storefronts. And the Manning Child Care Center will be using their award of $2,375 to replace worn carpet and install bead board in the large motor exercise room to help reduce the echo of children’s voices and prevent wall damage. For more information on donating to the Refresh Manning Trust Fund, contact the Main Street Manning office at 712-655-6246.
