The staff at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital (SMCH) in Lake City and a family from Churdan have welcomed the first baby of 2021. Madden Thomas Hardy was born to Daylon and Alex Hardy at 1:16 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 9, weighing in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces and he is 20 inches long. Madden was delivered by Dr. Susan Hornback and welcomed home by grandparents: Denny Hardy, Michelle Hardy, Tracy and Steve Murphy and John and Darcy Tussing. The annual first baby of the year tradition includes a showering of gifts to the baby and family, including diapers, wipes, clothing, blankets, books, toys and much more.
