The Recovery Center At MRHC Announces New Director, And Reports Increased Need For Services

With a fiscal report from the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages division revealing an eight percent increase in sales over the course of the pandemic, substance abuse providers across the state are concerned this represents a trend of turning to alcohol and other substances to ease the added stress and strain brought on by COVID-19. The Recovery Center at Manning Regional Healthcare Center, according to CEO, Linn Block, is seeing an increased need for their services.

The Recovery Center has recently announced a new director with a medical background.

Block says their vision for the center over the course in this year is going to be working to expand the out-patient treatment options.

When an individual or a loved one reaches out to The Recovery Center for help, a thorough initial assessment is done to determine a plan of treatment specific to that person. That assessment will also help with identifying which patients would do best with in-house, residential services.

Block says it is not unusual to hear from people that thought they could take care of their problem on their own. It is difficult to ask for help, but Block adds having the support of their family, friends and the MRHC team is the key to success in recovery. Anyone with questions or who has concerns about themselves or a loved one can contact the Recovery Center through the details included below or by talking with their healthcare provider.
