An obstructed view resulted in minor damage Wednesday in a Carroll accident. The Carroll Police Department responded to the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and 18th Street at approximately 5:13 p.m. Sixty-three-year-old Jane Snyder of Carroll was northbound on 71 in a 2017 Ford Explorer. At that same time, 33-year-old Stephen West, also of Carroll, was westbound on 18th Street in a 2017 Ford F-150. West was attempting to turn south onto 71, but stated he could not see the Snyder SUV because of a vehicle in the other northbound lane. West struck the Explorer on the passenger side, causing functional damage to both vehicles. No injuries were reported and West was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
