Two Minor Accidents Reported In Carroll Over The Weekend

The Carroll Police Department responded to two minor motor vehicle accidents over the New Year’s holiday weekend. The first occurred on Thursday, Dec. 31 at approximately 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Main Street. Fifteen-year-old Jacob Greving of Carroll was southbound on Main in a 2008 Ford Taurus. Nineteen-year-old Ethan Scott, also of Carroll, was northbound on Main and turned west onto Highway 30. Scott failed to yield the right of way on the left turn and was struck in the passenger side by the Greving Taurus, causing functional damage to both. Scott was cited for failure to yield on a left turn. The second accident occurred on Saturday, Jan. 2 at approximately 4:11 p.m. Seventy-seven-year-old Ronnie Mowrey of Carroll was backing from a drive in the 1900 block of Benjamin Street in a Ford F-150 when he struck a 2005 Buick Century that was legally parked on the street. Functional damage was reported on both vehicles and Mowrey was cited for striking an unattended vehicle.
