Phyllis Subbert of Glidden

Phyllis R. Subbert, age 90, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Sunny Brook Assisted Living in Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden with Pastor Alan Miller officiating.  Organist for the service will be Becky Miller.  Casket bearers will be Jamie Johnson, Joe Subbert, Max Hansen, Joel Freml, and Christopher Subbert, and Al Bock.  Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Lidderdale.
Visitation will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden from 1 – 2 P.M. on Thursday prior to the service.

Those in attendance at Phyllis’ services are asked to abide by Covid -19 guidelines and facemasks are required.

Phyllis was born on April 4, 1930 in Wall Lake, IA, and was the daughter of Frank and Thelma (Harris) Johnson.  She grew up in Wall Lake where she graduated from high school 1947.  She was married to Wayne Subbert on May 17, 1950 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City.  The couple farmed near Wall Lake and Jefferson.  Phyllis worked as a nurse for over 50 years at the hospitals in Lake City and Jefferson.  Phyllis moved to Glidden in 2000 and has most recently lived at Sunny Brook Assisted Living in Carroll where she received excellent care.   She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.  She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, spending time with family, dancing, and bowling winning the bronze medal in St. Louis State Games of America.
Phyllis is survived by her children and their families: daughter Sheri Johnson of Tulsa, OK; son Gary Subbert (Theresa) of Glidden; and Krist   ee Subbert of Glidden; six grandchildren: Jamie Johnson, Jennifer Hansen (Max), Kristina Land, Joe Subbert (Jami), Angie Freml (Joel), and Christopher Subbert (Melissa); 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Susan Dreessen (Bill) of Wall Lake and Cecilia Rohde of Wall Lake; a sister-in-law Jeanette Lerssen of Maning; and several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death her husband Wayne; her parents Frank and Thelma Subbert; her father and mother-in-law Chris and Marie Subbert; a sister Maxine Johnson; and a great-grandson Austin Michael Johnson.
