Delores Ann Breidert of Lidderdale

Delores Ann (Bender) Breidert, age 82, of Lidderdale, IA, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.

     A private funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Robert Wagner of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale officiating.  Casket bearers will be Delores’ grandchildren.  Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Lidderdale.

     Delores was born on April 17, 1938 on her family’s farm near Glidden, IA, and was the daughter of Bernard and Eula   (Wentzel) Bender.  She was the second of two children.  Over the years, Delores had several waitressing jobs when she was younger and became a fulltime homemaker after her marriage.  Delores was married to Norbert Henry Breidert on November 16, 1968 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale, IA.  Delores and Norbert had one son Jerry John Breidert.  The couple made their home on a farm north of Lidderdale for many years.  After Norbert’s passing in 1996, Delores moved to Lake City where she lived until 2018 when she moved back to the farm to be near her son and family.  She was active in Ladies Aide, BLBF, card clubs and various social clubs.  Delores enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, watching sports and movies on television, baking, hosting home interior parties, dancing and listening to Molly B.

     Delores is survived by her son Jerry Breidert (Tami) of Lidderdale, IA; two granddaughters: Stephanie Marie Breidert of Anchorage, AK, and Breanna Breidert of Glidden, IA; three grandsons: Michael John Breidert of Carroll, IA, Hunter Hansen and Lance Olerich of Glidden, IA, two sisters-in-law Lulu Belle Taylor (Larry) of Farnhamville, IA, and Katherine Gillman (Tom) of Gladwin, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

     Delores was preceded in death by her husband Norbert Breidert; her parents Bernard and Eula Bender; brother Leland Bender; and in-laws: Phyllis Bender, Lois and Otto DeWall, Dorothy and Kenneth Flockert, and Ethel and Donald Peterson.
