Glidden City Council Approves $17,000 Estimate For Repairs To Shared Wall At Glidden Wellness Center

The Glidden City Council is moving forward with repairs to a shared wall at the Glidden Wellness Center that has been weakened by water damage over time. Officials learned of the issue several months ago, and City Administrator, Brooke Peterson, says the repairs required experience in masonry, and outside assistance would be necessary.

On Monday, the city council approved a $17,000 estimate from Paul Henry Masonry out of Rockwell. Peterson says the contractor expects to be on site as early as Monday, Dec. 21. The extent of the damage will not be apparent until they begin work on the project.

According to Peterson, the timeline for completion is still up in the air.

Fortunately, Peterson says they do have room in the budget for this unexpected expense. Due to it being a shared wall, the final cost will be split evenly with the adjacent property owner.
