A Carroll woman suffered serious injuries when struck by a pickup as she crossed Highway 30 in Carroll Thursday. The Carroll Police Department responded to the intersection of Clark and U.S. Highway 30 at approximately 4:09 p.m. Sixty-five-year-old Joleen Sanders was crossing the highway as 60-year-old Kimberly Mead, also of Carroll, was traveling southbound on Clark St. and turning eastbound onto 30 in a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. Mead says she did not see Sanders in the street and struck her, knocking her to the ground and pinning her under the vehicle. Sanders was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services and later transferred to a Des Moines hospital.
