Coon Rapids Bayard, Panorama and SE Valley At Manson NW Webster
The Coon Rapids Bayard Crusaders had a tough day as a team, but saw some success individually as they opened up the 2020-2021 wrestling season. Going up against Panorama, Southeast Valley, and Manson Southwest Webster, the Crusaders were only able to wrestle a few individual matches with many going down as forfeits. On the day Coon Rapids Bayard lost all three team matchups, but there were a few highlights during the matches wrestled that day.
Aaron McAlister, wrestling at 182 pounds, was able to go undefeated in matches wrestled. McAlister defeated Reyd Oldson of Manson Northwest Webster via fall at the 0:49 mark and Harley Bryson of Southeast Valley via fall at the 5:01 mark. Alex Duran was also able to pick up a victory in the 132 pound weight class against Manson Northwest Webster defeating Cole Seehusen via fall at the 1:04 mark going 1-1 in matches wrestled. Toby Benniger, in his only match wrestled, defeated Spencer Suchan of Southeast Valley in the 106 pound weight class via fall at the 0:18 mark to go 1-0 in matches wrestled.
The Coon Rapids Bayard Crusaders will wrestle next at the Woodward Granger Tournament on Saturday, December 5th.

South Central Calhoun, MOC Floyd Valley, MVAO-COU, and Cherokee, Washington
The South Central Calhoun Titans started off their wrestling season with impressive individual wins against MOC Floyd Valley, MVAO-COU, and Cherokee, Washington. As a team, the Titans were able to go 2-1 on the day, narrowly losing to MOC Floyd Valley by a team score of 48-34. Where the Titans excelled at was the individual matches having three wrestlers go 3-0 on the day.
Ayden Toms swept his opponents 3-0 at 126 pounds defeating all of them via fall within 1:30 of each match. Zachary Trott finished with an impressive 2-1 record on the day picking up wins against Sterling Haack of MOC Floyd Valley via Major Decision 12-2 and Jaxson Welte of MVAO-COU via fall at 4:39. Kevin King ended his day with an individual record of 1-1 in match’s wrestled picking up a victory against Colin Pick of Cherokee, Washington via fall at 3:08.
Jaydon Maschke was the second Titan with an undefeated record on the day winning his two matches against MOC Floyd Valley and MVAO-COU at 152 pounds via fall within 1:30 of those matches and at 160 pounds against Nick Clark of Cherokee, Washington via decision 14-12. Jayden Soard wasted no time in his matches as he won at 220 pounds against Brett Van Gelder of MOC Floyd Valley via fall at 1:52 and won at 285 pounds against MVAO-COU and Cherokee, Washington via fall, both lasting 0:33 and 0:29 respectively.
The Titans will hit the road with East Sac and wrestle at the Doug Wood Tournament at Manson on Friday, December 4th.
