Storm Lake Man Faces Added Charges After Resisting Public Intoxication Arrest

A Storm Lake man faces additional charges after resisting arrest. The Storm Lake Police Department reports officers made contact with an intoxicated pedestrian at approximately 11:40 p.m. Saturday. They say as they attempted to take 37-year-old Travis D. Burr into custody, he physically resisted and tried to flee, but was ultimately subdued and arrested. Burr, however, continued to be physically combative, kicking the patrol vehicle, causing an estimated $1,000 in damage, and injuring an officer. He has been charged with third-degree criminal mischief, an aggravated misdemeanor, interference with official acts causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor, and interference with official acts and public intoxication, both simple misdemeanors. Burr was booked into the Buena Vista County jail on a $3,600 bond and has since been released.
